Oh ya. It's sweet corn season. That Indian gold sold on the side of the road calls to us every time we pass by . We've been through 2 dozen this week.
We eat it raw. Or pretend to....
Corn Tips-boil in water, a splash of vinegar and sugar
-never salt! (toughens kernels)
-sprinkle Parmesan cheese in place of salt when hot.
grill in husks over barbeque
- try mayo, salt, squeeze of lime and chili powder.
-buy as much as you can while its good.
-make offspring do all the hard work.
-love yourself for supporting local farmers, overloading on carbs, and making easy summer dinners.

exterior painting of the homestead is *almost* done.
Sneak peak of the color in pics above
[stay tuned for the transformation]

Yum.
Maya looks skinny and tall. . . . What?!
I just want some k!
Ooh, I like the house color! Can't wait to see the whole thing. I wish you could send some corn this way, but I should just go get some myself. I'm sure I could find a corn stand if I drove around... but then I'd have to LEAVE THE HOUSE which I refuse to do in this heat unless absolutely necessary!!!
LOVE sweet corn!
My FAV is bbq'd, slathered with butter, & parm cheese!!
