Pool, Pizza, Porches, and Popsicles....

Today is Friday. I have been looking forward to Friday all week. Paul had the night off so we were planning on going out on an actual date. Dates are few and far between in this house so we take great advantage when we can. The day started off great. We slept in till 7 and played all morning eating cupcakes for breakfast. Paul got home early and Leah, Asher and I all napped for 2 hours this afternoon.
It turned out that our neighbors ended up not being able to watch the kids so we couldn't go out. I was disappointed. I only have 6 days left with Paul and was super happy about getting out of the house.
But the disappointment faded fast. We put our swim suits on and went to the pool. It was such a great day outside. Really humid but not to hot. We swam and swam. I love when Paul is there so I can do laps and swim like a little kid, care free. We decided to get pizza for dinner. I will say that Pizza Hut can not be beat. I love their pizza, especially their bread sticks. I could eat it everyday. Pizza Hut usually gets the shaft in the world of pizza chains and I think it shouldn't. We sat out on the front porch and ate popsicles for dessert and watched the kids play. The night couldn't have turned out any better. I love my little family to death. It makes me sad to think that Paul will be gone in a week and it will be just 3 of us but I know the time will go by fast and soon I will be with family.
Have a great weekend everyone.

I am sick of...

...Kids white clothes. There ain't no stoppin stains. I don't know why I even bother buying them. 2 uses in my house and that's about it. But I do love Oxy clean.
... Sugar. Well I'm not sick of the actual substance but I am sick of what its doing to my behind.
I bought a swim suit yesterday and that's about the biggest reminder. My husband is a kind soul but I know the truth. Time to cut back. But I do love sugar free popsicles.
...Litterbugs. I feel guilty if a straw wrapper blows out of my car when I open the door and cant get to it fast enough. What are people thinking. This is OUR planet. But I do love seeing people in the park picking up trash.
...Little Einsteins. Holy moly. Its a cute show and everything but Disney plays it over and over. I guess it has always just rubbed me the wrong way. But I do love Choo-Choo Soul. To bad its a mini show and only last 3 minutes.
...The lifeguard at the pool. He doesn't do his job. And sits in his chair and smokes. rrrrr. I think you all know how I feel about smoking. But I do love the pool.
...Gas prices. I had no idea that they tax the crap out of a gallon of gas. That is garbage. But I do love the smell of it.
...Fruit flys. I cant get rid of them. Don't they know I bought the fruit, therefore its mine?! But I do love their taste for food.
...Being negative. So I am going to cheer up! Have a happy Sunday everyone.

Vacation all I ever wanted....

We had such a great vacation. It was a LONG drive but totally worth it! It took a day and a half to drive up through Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio and end in Michigan. It was a beautiful drive. I LOVED Pennsylvania and would live there if it weren't so dang cold in the winter. We had the best time with the Hagens. Thank you so much for housing and feeding and entertaining us! We love you. We spent 5 nights there and took another route home going through Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. This country is sooooo beautiful and each state has its own unique features. We crossed 7 states. Leah was a traveling champ! Asher on the other hand didn't like it so much. He could only take so much junk food and diet coke in his bottle. But we made it. What a great thing these vacations are! Eat what you want, swim in hotel pools, sleep in (didn't happen) but I got a few naps in. We even saw a black bear cross the freeway. But it got hit by a car. Sad. Back to life! 3 weeks till Paul leaves so now we have to get him ready to go. The end.

Oh Asher....you didnt!

Well, you can just call me the BEST mom in the land. As if Leah's collar bone wasn't enough, Asher broke his nose Saturday evening. We were playing outside at park behind our house and I just bought him a pair of flip-flops that he was clumsily running around in and fell into a steal bar with his nose. Those kid flip flops are so cute but I should have known better putting them on a one year old who is just learning to run.
The swelling has gone down a bit and its looking alot better. Good thing we are headed to Dr. Dans house tomorrow so he can fix him :) Hence the bags of junk food in the cupboard for the long drive to Michigan.
We are soooo excited for this little vacation. We have hardly seen Paul this spring and summer, so its going to be so nice to have a dad to play with. We are going to stop in Baltimore to see our friend Tonya and stay a night somewhere in Pennsylvania. Then onto Holly, MI to the Hagen's household to play with Kaelin, Kobe, Jake, and Drew for a few days! Hooray!
Anyway, my kids are broken at the moment but they still love me. Good thing.

I Dream of.....you!

Its true, since I have started in this world well even before I officially joined (stalker) I started dreaming of you. Do you ever see a person that you have dreamed about and feel all weird like they know you have had a relationship with them in your dreams? I remember specifically back in high school having a dream about a boy who I never even liked and then seeing him the next day. It felt so weird.

But its all good now. I don't see anyone. Except in my dreams that is. I dream about your kids, where you live, what you are doing, even your husbands (not what your thinking :)

Even people that I don't know and just browse their blogs I see them in my dreams at the grocery store or at the park. Strange. I have always been a crazy dreamer. Paul says he doesn't dream much. But me? I could tell you what dream I had 2 nights ago.

Does this happen to anyone else or am I just a weirdo?

P.S. this picture doesn't have anything to do with this write, its just my rugrats at Virginia Beach a week ago. Eatin dirt.

Yesterday

Yesterday....what a day! We had good things and definitely bad things happen. I will start with the good. Paul has been out to sea for the past 2 1/2 weeks and his ship pulled in yesterday to drop the air wing off and they decided to let everyone off for a day. So that was great! We weren't expecting him home until June 8th. But instead of having a fun filled day with dad doing what we wanted, we ended of at the E.R. of the children's hospital. Leah was sleeping with me last Sunday night and rolled off the bed in her sleep. She cried a bit but then went back to sleep. And was happy for the most part mon-thurs doing regular activity and only complaining a little bit about her arm when I would pick her up. I didn't think much of it because she has bruised her shoulder before with rough play. But Thursday I was putting her swim suit on and noticed swelling by her shoulder. I didn't want to jump to any conclusions so I waited until Paul got home and he took one look at it and said "Oh, its broken all right."

Sure enough.....a broken collar bone on her right side! I felt terrible for letting it go for 5 days!

She HATES doctors and was a typical 2 year old at the hospital but by the end of it was loving all the attention and stickers and juice. She is sporting a little brace and wrap that she will wear for about 2 weeks. Good thing kids are so resilient! A broken clavicle is the most common bone to break and also the fastest to heal. Oh.....the good the bad and the ugly...but mostly the beautiful that comes with being a mom!

Like I said, Paul was only home for a day, actually about 16 hours so we took him back at 5 this morning. It is only 7 am now so I am in for a LONG day. Thank heaven for the disney channel.
