Quick Stop Santa

Santa was spotted last night at the Melessa house leaving way to many toys.
He came early so he wouldn't miss us knowing that we are heading to Utah early Christmas morning and that dad works all days leading up to it.
How thoughtful of him. But I didn't get what I wanted. And I came up short when Paul mentioned his hope too. Dang.

Put em up put em up.
This is the most annoying sounding horse in the world when you are trying to get some shut eye. But if it will keep her from not drawing on walls for 19 minutes a day...Ill take the neighing.
Word to the wise: this hut is NOT collapsible, I repeat it DOES NOT collapse. If I had known what a pain it is to get together and take apart, I wouldn't have let Paul tear apart the box it came in, in efforts to conserve the trash bin and return its sorry soul.
Grammy Joan...NO MORE PRESENTS. got that? :)
that goes for you too Nana.

Hi-5

Guess who turned 5 years old yesterday?!!
Our little South Carolina Girl.
All day yesterday she kept saying "I just cant believe I'm 5!, I just cant believe I'm 5!"
Well you know what missy...me either.
She wasn't too happy about getting ready for the day and hittin up preschool.
But her mood quickly changed when she found this hiding under the birthday part of the Christmas tree....
I could not even stop myself from buying it. Would you be able to? I thought not.
She was a little bit happy...just a smidge.
I should have gotten her a new pair of brown tights too...
We played, and played, protected the house from a certain brother and his gun, played and played...
Then slipped into something more comfortable, went upstairs, ate lunchables, and danced to disco music all afternoon...okay maybe 30 minutes.
After a 2 1/2 hour nap, grilled cheese and nachos....these topped off the night.
Have you ever put marshmallow creme in frosting? Delicioso.
I love my Leah bug, smarty pants, South Carolina girl, mamas girlfriend, soft hearted, Prince Caspian loving, green pea hating, daddy's girl, salsa dancing, swim suit wearing,
beautiful 5 year old.

a bit of FB because you care ;)

I stole this idear from Jamey T. Thought it was brilliant.

I try to keep Facebook and Blogger separate since no one wants to hear or see the same thing twice right? But today....Im meshing the two.

Life the past few weeks on FB...

Dec 5- Childrens boogers do not accent food well. The things I have eaten since becoming a mother.

Dec 3-
doctor office today at 230 to get one million shots since my children havent been immunized since birth.... dont you wish you were me?

Dec 1-
in a rush, I fed the kids twinkies and eggnog for breakfast and guess what the topic at preschool today was? Eating healthy....figures.

Nov 28-
Adam Lambert makes me want to vomit....major

Nov 22-
Heading to Kansas City tomorrow to be a little kid at The Great Wolf Lodge with the Hagen fam! Enjoy your week of commatose food and go for seconds!

Nov 21-
Im feeling pressure to decorate for christmas...very hard for a lazy person

Nov 19-
Why do I want so badly the things I do not need. And need so badly the things I do not want. Like a new toilet.

Nov 18-
Please dont go to a truckers gas station at night by yourself to fill up and be the only female there when you have just watched an episode of 'I survived'. A show about people surviving terrible attacks from psychos. You will think you are in an episode. Please dont do it.

Nov 17-
Christmas plane tickets....bought. Literally flying on Christmas. But we will be in SG by noon. And Im excited!

Nov 16-
what is your food addiction right now? I'll confess if you do.....(it was McDonalds Filet-o-fish)

Nov 14-
I told Paul today that I was going to make myself become a clean freak....he just laughed at me.

Nov12-
do you think those Reeboks would really tighten this arse? If so, Im in.

Nov 10-
I like these spur of the moment mini vacations to hotels...you know...the kind where you swim in your pjs or undies...or in Mayas case...nekked

Nov 9-
Kids make freaking messes! and Im sick of it.

Nov 7-
my 20 month old has a cough that sounds like a 60 old year smoker. Breaks my heart.

Nov 6- Just watched Brothers Bloom, and I recommend.

Nov 3-
I win best sister award....how you ask? I drove with 3 children 10 hours {12 hour day} across the ugly state {in winter if course} of NE to pick her up, make her spend a week with me and bought her and her cute preggo belly a plane ticket home straight into SG. Shes lucky to have me :)

I know you want to be my bestie on FB. no?

Im serious

Paul was quite the proud father a few days ago when Asher came home with this pheasant. Leah was not a proud sister with what she saw at all, as she is destined to be a future member of PETA...seriously.
We headed to Kansas City (ilovekansascity) for a few days before Thanksgiving to live it up with the Hagen's. There was lots of great food, shopping, cousins having a ball, a night at the Great Wolf Lodge, and the best "If you dare" game played of all time thanks to Jelly Belly and these certain beans. Best $1.99 you will ever spend....seriously.
Paul worked on Thanksgiving so the kids and I stayed in pajamas, ate hot dogs and watched Christmas movies all day. It was awesome....seriously.
Ive come to terms with the fact that Maya is growing up. Dang it. She is now old enough to kindly excuse herself to poop in a corner of a tent with out making a scene :)
Today I put away her crib, actually I put away a way to small pack and play she had been sleeping in since we moved and set up her bed. Wish me luck in the nap/nighttime area as we now have no limits or rails holding her in...seriously.
House update: I have no before picture but trust me, you would have vomited. Our room is an upstairs, crazy walled, very small, crevice in the house. Before it was black and white race car stripes and now....slowly it is turning into what it needs to be, appealing. All we need is new carpet, wicker storage and one billion more dollars....seriously.

a wrecking ball post

Miss Maya D. 20 months. Craziest little wart you will ever meet.
Keeps me on my feet, cleaning up pee, crumbs, spilled beverages, dog food, cat litter, mac makeup she so kindly digs out with her fingers, and digging numerous items out of the toilet.
Loves: shoes, dad, outside, high tailing it down the street, forks, mascara, string cheese, binkys, being fearless, high heels, her lifeline-a smelly old bunny, diet coke, pushing around her potty chair, painting toe nails, the cat, smearing chocolate up the stairs, slamming doors, the computer, and drawing.
Hates: brushing her teeth, bread, fixing her hair, when people leave, sleeping in, when diet coke runs out, hearing no, staying in the kitchen to eat, and the mean dog next door.

unknown history

Photo booth unfortunately and unknowingly recorded the journey of my hair in the last 18 months. From blond to brown to yellow to gone to now. Sheesh. Please people, learn from me. I, obviously never will, as I just spent 80 bucks for bleach again. Shizzle, let your hair be.

Caged Danger

Wild exotic animals- while very beautiful- are extremely dangerous and need to be kept in cages
AT ALL TIMES
Don't be fooled by their pretty looks, or loving affectionate nature toward their young
Just listen to their growls. It should remind you of their capabilities.

(p.s. my voice is so annoying)

Apologies, I cursed.

I took a little outing today-to Omaha. We found a mall and the Cheesecake Factory. Leah got her ears pierced(I laughed my head off because of this flaw ) but most importantly, I met and devoured the new love of my life.
Stephanies Red Velvet Cheesecake.
Oh-My-Hell it is so good.

Ode to Today

Because it was a wonderful day.
Because there were Happy meals. Popcorn balls. Races around the block. Swimsuits. Tennis shoes. Bare feet.
Because I(am starting to) love this street I call home.
Because neighbors {say they} missed the screams, yelling, laughter, naked babes in the street, and were happy to see these faces make their daily rounds once again.
Because of today....I put this out of mind and enjoyed the 70 degree sunshine...and even the spiders.
{Next up, adios pink walls}

The boy, the gun, the chicken run and an annoying Aunt

This boy, well this boy is a bit obsessed with guns. b.b. guns, rifles, shot guns, muzzle loaders, pistols, 22s, and on and on. He is the Obama administrations worst nightmare.
(what do you expect? we live in Nebraska where hunting is topic of major conversation)
2 things were picked up so far on this trip, a buckle belt, and overalls. Making the perfect farmer/hunter/cowboy wear.
Look at that form Uncle Sean!
Now we move onto the chicken run. When the rifle is not in hand, this boy is running around like a chicken. Why a chicken? well, I just dont know.
When chicken runs and rifles aren't on the mind, this boy can get grumpy. It may have something to do with a certain annoying Auntie and a camera.

Lets play pretend okay?

We have been in Utah for a week. And what a week it has been. It was so fun to share the title with Summer. Dont I look killer tall and skinny with long brown hair?....okay fine, its not me, its Shaylee Welch. Shes a doll.
You know there has to be some sort of jumping shot in my collage of pics right?
Maya kisses like her daddy, open mouth and slobbery. Me? I prefer
grandparent kisses. Mwah.
Asher, Leah and AJ cheering on the mutton busting.
We learned why they should never hold rodeo events in the heat of the day. But the hot dogs were still good.
Pink night. Lynds and I were tough enough to wear it.
Look! They were tough enough too.
One of the great things about Papas house. The lawn mower.
And the nekked pics. I found her down at the corrals Sunday morning just like this.

A couple weeks left. Lots of great things on the menu. But it will be nice to get home and see my money maker lover man. This one is for you Paul. Mwah! (grandma style of course :)
