Its how I roll

After a day of sleeping in, being lazy, homemade bread and cookies, and ditching church to do it all..... I think I can take on the week! I love these boogers. It takes a good break to remember that sometimes. So for today I say....bring on the sleepless nights!

J-O-K-E-!

A joke. This is a joke. My body is a big fat joke. Its been 6 days of miserable nursing and pumping. I dumped 4 precious ounces of milk down the drain this morning because it was the color of fruit punch. AHHH! It isn't getting better and there is nothing I can do about it, except stop nursing and I'll be damned if that happens. I'm not going through all of this just to give up. But I just want the pain to end. And poor baby M. is hungry and miserable too. Creams and potions aren't doing their work and I am thinking of becoming either as fat as a cow so I can pump gallons, or elect a mastectomy. Which one sounds funner?...
But, there is always tomorrow.

Most Excellent

A new twist on the must have Old Navy flip flops. I have a feeling my feet and these will be friends all summer long.

These little delectables were on sale at the commissary for 5 cents a pound! I wound up with a bag full and eleven cents lost. Delicious.
We have a little Thrush at our house right now...not fun. This lovely machine the hospital supplied me with has saved Baby M. (and my sore bleeding cha chas the last few days)
SUCH a wonderful movie. I sat on my couch and let the tears flow. And then after, went upstairs and snuggled and kissed my sleeping children and cried some more.
Quite possibly the BEST chocolate I have ever eaten. I have made the switch to dark (am I grown up now?) and the orange bits and slivered almonds made me eat the WHOLE bar alone.
Always fun to try new detergents. This one meets my nose requirements. Now they just need a fabric softener to match.

Virginia Aquarium

Yesterday we went to the VA Aquarium down the road. It turned out to be a beautiful day so we had a great time. Leah and Asher were fascinated and a bit overwhelmed at the fish and reptiles. Asher would put his head up really close to the tanks and say "Whoaaaaa a turtle, I dont like turtles!" "Wow, a shark! I dont like sharks!" Leah just gripped my hand and scrunched her shoulders but she was brave. We are having mucho fun with Aunt Kimi out here and I am trying to think of a way to make her stay longer...any ideas?
As much as I complain about living here, there is actually a lot to do for fun. In this last year here, we need to take advantage of that. So when you here me complaining, please remind me.

In other news, Maya is now one month old. Cute little cuss. She has learned that it is way more fun to be held than not. And likes to sleep in moms arms. That little smile is coming any day now and we cant wait. She does look a lot like her father and I love that. She is a squealer but not so much a crier unless her diaper is being changed. We lover.

Also, Michael Johns booted?!!! so sad. I loved his voice and his hilarious goofy laugh. And what about Kristy Lee Cook? First, come on already, she is pretty and all, but adios please. Second, is it me or does she have the WORST taste in clothing around! There has not been one outfit she has worn that is even remotly stylish. You do know you are on t.v. yes?

Family night at the farm

We started the night off by drinking fizzy lifting bubbles courtesy of Willy Wonka

All the while Maya is looking on in amazement. What a talented family.
Finishing off with Bomb Pops. And some quality family down time.

Ashers it.

Chandler tagged Asher. Here are some things you may or may not know about him...

....Asher LOVES tomatoes. He would pick grape tomatoes over candy. But don't get me wrong, he still LOVES candy.

....Asher doesnt LOVE socks. Or I guess the wrong socks. He is very picky about these and if he has to wear them, they come off as soon as he can get to them.

....Asher LOVES routines. From the time we wake up to the time we go down, he has it all mapped out in his head. And is quick to remind me if we get off track. Silly boy.

....Asher LOVES guitars. I am hoping that he will be on American Idol in a few years ;) Kinda like Jason Castro minus the dreads.

....Asher LOVES the Wiggles. To bad for me it comes on at 7 am. and only once a day. Good thing there is such a thing as Youtube as we can watch all we want now.....great.

....Asher LOVES his mama. He has always been a mama lover and I hope it continues till he is old and grey.

....Asher doesn't LOVE church. If we all get in the car to go somewhere its automatically "I don't wanna go to church" It makes for a fun 3 hour block.

....Asher LOVES numbers and letters. He knows them all. Which amazes me cause I don't work with him that much. I guess I can thank the Wiggles for that one.

Ah hahahahaha...

thanks Linds....
Baby's First Doctor Visit

A woman and a baby were in the doctor's examining room, waiting for the doctor to come in for the baby's first exam. The doctor arrived, and examined the baby, checked his weight, and being a little concerned, asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed. 'Breast-fed,' she replied. 'Well, strip down to your waist,' the doctor ordered. She did. He pinched her nipples, pressed, kneaded, and rubbed both breasts for a while in a very professional and detailed examination. Motioning to her to get dressed, the doctor said, 'No wonder this baby is underweight. You don't have any milk.' I know,' she said, 'I'm his Grandma, but I'm glad I came.'
