dos things

#1 Ugly Nebraska is turning into pretty Nebraska. And pretty Nebraska is the way I like it.
{this pretty and its friends popped up in the middle of a huge dirt pile, Asher took the credit since he had planted his apples seeds the day before there and the next day a purple flower grew}

#2 Someone taught himself how to tie his own shoes. Along with anything and everything else that has something resembling string. It now takes 27.4 minutes to untie them so he can re-tie and move onto items of more importance...blind strings, table cloths, elastics, jump ropes, floss, computer cords, etc.

Love

You know that feeling when you find something
so wonderful?
so beautiful?
so full of character?
And then you fall in love.
Most people fall for their
children
spouse
grandma
grandpa
mom
dad

Me?

I fell in love with this.
By a chance meeting on Craigslist searching for hutches I found it.
In all its beautiful glory.
A silver tea set.
so wonderful.
so beautiful.
so full of character.
We were destined to be together forever.
I got the deal of a lifetime
And 20 dollars later
it will make my new dining room
shine.
Speaking of the dining room
It isnt a dungeon anymore
Its light
Its airy
Its pretty
Its almost finished.
All we need is
Bamboo flooring
This hutch
And a few framed pieces of art.
Stay tuned.....

Oh no she di'nt!

Oh yes she did!
(home girl accent)

We went to Omaha yesterday to pick up some things. (dining room re-do underway). After that was done we stuffed ourselves silly with Culvers chocolate almond heath custard and I mentioned running into Target for some 1.00 baby wash and to look at the rugs.

We entered.
Feeling confident that splurges would indeed not happen.
Then I saw it.
All over!
The new Liberty of London collection line.
I went CRAZY!
And Leah was right there with me- adding to the fire (she and I make fierce shopping team).
"this is sooo cute!"
"I love that!"
"Oh My GOSH!!"
And in the end, there was splurging, and a tad bit of purging (maya) and we all ended up with sundresses.
Matching ones of course.
Asher settled for a dart gun.
And mine? Girls XL.
Oh yes I did.
Im that mom who bought kids clothes for herself.
The kind of mom I used to roll my eyes at. :)
I could not resist.
Be forewarned.
It could happen to you.
There is just too much goodness.
The end.
p.s. you bet your bottom dollar that if I could have stuffed my jiggly body into one of the swimming suits they had out- I would have.
But Paul was there to intervene and guide me to the womans section. :)

2 for a party

Today
Maya, Mayja, Moomoo, crazy girl, whirlwind, wrecking ball, tornado, sis, goose face, baby
Turns 2!
This little sis's being came out of no where. Paul and I are constantly amazed at her from left field personality and easy going self. She is a wrecking ball of energy and absolutely crazy. And when you get these 2 little crazies together in nursery....you are bound to laugh.
So to celebrate our 2 birthdays a few days apart, we took a little trip to Omaha straight to the hotel we got stuck in over Christmas (with the beyond awesome water park) and partied all night- or maybe a few hours at the pool and water park.
We were the only ones there. Free to break all the rules- running around the water play area, diving in the pool, kids in the hot tub, and the funnest of course- making trains repeatedly down the water tube.
To top it all off, we found ourselves a new favorite place to eat.
Culvers!
3 words
Butterburgers (fantastic!) - Frozen Custard (to die from!)
If you are anywhere near this delicious, friendly, clean restaurant- I highly recommend.
seen here- vanilla custard turtle sundae, half eaten

I need serious help when it comes to filming to blog, I never remember the right way to hold the camera, apologies.

sturff

1. Ive been nursing off of a lone 20 oz diet coke all day. I hate it and Im sure the bottle itself hates me. Why cant I just drink all I want? Because I know, slowly, my insides are turning into metal.

2. Love salsa? Try THIS RECIPE! easy peasy and scarfalicious.

3. Ive been befriended on Facebook by several of my primary kids and youth in the ward. As nice of compliment it is, Im this close to de-friending them.
I feel like I cant swear!
Im supposed to be their example.
People, just face it- while I would not and will not ever compare my mouth to that of a sailors, I did grow up in a household where shit-damn-hell were regular words. Im a swearer. Did you know that?
AND
I do not care if you became of fan of
"I yawn all day at school, but when it comes to night-Im not tired at all"
OR
"I cant believe they are canceling Spongebob!"
OR
"I join too many groups because their names make me say "OMG thats true!"
(all actual pages on FB.)

4. Maybe I should cool it with facebook for awhile. It makes me want to swear.

5. Whatcha doing with your tax return? Is this to personal of a question?
If it were up to me- we'd have new floors, new rugs and a brand new black oven and fridge.
But the Mr. thinks saving for a rainy day and paying off debt is better.
Whatever.
(okay maybe)

6. Id like to live in Canada (mainly since the past 2 weeks). The grass really would be greener on the other side, Summertime of course. But along with the green grass would be all the Big Turks and Ketchup flavored potato chips I can eat. Yum.

7. My crock pot bit the dust. And made us all have the pork roast squirts. Too bad we had to find out that way, it was not pretty.

8. I LOVE crock pot cooking. This is a big deal until I can get to the store and buy another.

9. But that would mean I have to put on some pants then.

10. This post is pretty revealing isn't it?

11. Picture red birds tweeting on a clear spring day, not the aforementioned pork.

12. I just spelled checked and it suggested using crackpot, instead of crockpot.

13. I laughed out loud.

14. I cut Mayas hair- as previously mentioned it turned out terrible. So I took her in for a Nebraska style hair cut and she came out with a dutch boy bob.
Now she fits in perfect!
(wink)

15. She is sitting on my lap and just wiped a booger on my face.

16. I need a vacation- to Canada perhaps.
