The trip mid west east.

----Thursday-Sunday----
We drove through 6 states.
Stayed a night in beautiful Nauvoo, Illinois.
Made it to Indiana.
Ate lots of fish.
Picked up uncle Nate.
Bought lots of Notre Dame gear.
Paul and Nate watched the Irish get their trash kicked.
Loved every second of it.
The kids and I hung out at the hotel.
With an ice cold pool and broken hot tub.
Didnt love every second of it.
The kids did.
Found a mall.
And a new favorite store.
Enjoyed friendly Indianians.
Drove 12 hours home.

---Realized---

I need a new car.
Aint going to happen.
Not such a Holiday Inn fan anymore.
Pregnant ladies and rest areas go well together.
But pregnant ladies and 12 hour drives do not.
The children are toad faces.
'My humps' has made a come back in the family.
Loved seeing Paul in his heaven.
Catholics know how to entertain.
Football isnt so bad.
Start planning for next years trip to Ireland.
To watch Notre Dame vs. Navy.
Im dead serious.
You want to go?
Lets go.

Nauvoo Temple. pretty pretty.
all the fam pic
The weather was lovely
Witnessed a bridge "twisting" for a freighter on the Mississippi.
Not to worry-Woody always had it under control in the backseat
The campus of Notre Dame was unreal
Future flyer
(or linebacker)
A little excited to go I think
Asher looks the best in blue- sorry boys :)
The fans- and lots of em.

The Golden Dome.
*tip*
dont buy sticker books for confined spaces.

you will regret it.

Coming up....

A post on what we did last weekend.
Im still recovering.
It was brutal.
It was fun.
It was tiring.

We will make it a yearly thing.

But from now on we will be taking to the air.
Instead of the great American Freeways.

Because...
Im sick of paying tolls.
And cleaning up barf.

And because...
Next year- Notre Dame plays a game in Ireland.

Because...

Football lover or not, Im going.

Monday Meanderings- 9|20

My sweetie heart friend Sarah G. does this every week. I love to read what she is up to and get ideas. No promises this will be a weekly event as its supposed-but Id like to start participating.

Bible Study...
hmmm guess I could start reading the bible ;)

Memory Verse... refer to above comment, and we will start there...

Husband Encouragement...
* Be a listening ear. Paul is full of crazy ideas and I get to absorb it all.
* He is working nights this week, so try and keep a quiet house while he sleeps in the day. *try*
* Keep the car/truck trash free. *i know it bothers him, but hes good not to snap*

Train Them Up...
* Take Maya to toddler story time on Wed at the library
* Buy binders to organize all of the kids artwork/school work they bring home. Cause its ever-where.
* Practice flash cards with Maya and Asher every day. Maya loves this. Asher does not.
* Set the mood in the am for Leah before school. She does better when Im not the Grinch.

Personal Goals...
*Get ready for the weekend. We are headed to Indiana so Paul and my brother in law Nate can go to a Notre Dame game.
*Clean house so we don't come back to a mess.
*Be nice to the dog :)

New Habit of the Month...
Keep laundry in line. Last week I re-organized all kid clothes. Something Ive dreaded all year. But we purged and stored and washed and folded and hung up and so on. It was so nice. Now I just need to keep it that way.

MUST Do...
*Get oil changed in van. -did that this morning.
*Call school to excuse Leah on Thurs and Fri.
*Book a hotel in Nauvoo for Thurs night.
*Take my vitamins.
*Charge camera for the weekend.

Zone...
*bathrooms- get rid of perma-pee smell.

Menu - Ah crud. I love to cook. I hate to plan. But Ill do my best. Although when Paul works nights, we eat easy.

M- Cheese quesadillas, fruit, multi grain cheerios
T- Broccoli cheese soup, french bread.
W - breakfast for dinner
Th - on the road, somewhere in Illinois.
F - on the road, somewhere in Indiana- Red Robin perhaps?
S - on the road, somewhere in Indiana- Vietnamese perhaps?
Su - on the road, somewhere heading home- Chick-fil-A perhaps?

FUN THINGS!
* Weekend at Notre Dame!
* Picking up Nate Clements at the airport for a quick trip East.
* Continuing on with our Harry Potter marathon (weve never watched them before) with #5. Although its starting to get creepy- even for me- let alone the kids :)
* Last night, we had some awesome friends from Norfolk stop by and eat dinner with us. They are on their way to Utah. Bob just got out of the Navy and they will be setting up life at Utah State University.

3 things I'm thankful for today...
2. Naps.
3. Maya shaking her bon bon.

The explanation

I figured out why I am such a...
(refer to last post)

My sciatic nerve.

Its killing me.
I only get a break when I sleep.
Sometimes.

Add that to
3 kids
stairs
A dirty house
Obligations
20+ extra pounds
etc....

and youd be one too.
(be glad you arent under my roof)

Im so over this baby growing business.
4 evah.

steam to blow

Sometimes in life-
Its perfectly acceptable
to be a
bitch.

but only for a minute.

And sometimes in life-
Im really good at it.

The end.

i feel better

weak stomach mistake

*Warning*
*not for weak stomachs- mine included*

Asher had a dentist appt at 8 am along with his father this morning.
He went to get a filling in his bottom molar.
Things went great.
No tears shed.
And he was done in time for 9 am pre-school.
Big mistake.
He couldnt feel his bottom lip.
And bit a huge chunk the size of Rhode Island out of it.

(pics dont do it justice)
Now we get to wait for it to swell, turn green and yellow, and get painful.
(Dentist said stitches weren't necessary)
Moral of this mistake?

Don't let your kids go to preschool after dentist.
They will eat their lip and not even know it.

....makes my heart hurt....

A short {true} story.

The kids wanted to get some balloons for Paul on his birthday.
It just so happens that there is a
flower/balloon/cell phone/dog grooming
store conveniently located a block away.
For all your pet grooming-cell phone questions-flower-balloon needs.
{True Story.}
At this store- they tie birthday balloons to a bag of sand.
But first, they make it look all pretty with curly cues.
I laughed all day about it.
{True Story.}
But the laughing quickly ended once the pretty bag of sand
spilled all over the floor.
{True Story.}
{..bet you wished you lived by that store huh}
much love Auburn..much love :)
