Yesterday

Yesterday....what a day! We had good things and definitely bad things happen. I will start with the good. Paul has been out to sea for the past 2 1/2 weeks and his ship pulled in yesterday to drop the air wing off and they decided to let everyone off for a day. So that was great! We weren't expecting him home until June 8th. But instead of having a fun filled day with dad doing what we wanted, we ended of at the E.R. of the children's hospital. Leah was sleeping with me last Sunday night and rolled off the bed in her sleep. She cried a bit but then went back to sleep. And was happy for the most part mon-thurs doing regular activity and only complaining a little bit about her arm when I would pick her up. I didn't think much of it because she has bruised her shoulder before with rough play. But Thursday I was putting her swim suit on and noticed swelling by her shoulder. I didn't want to jump to any conclusions so I waited until Paul got home and he took one look at it and said "Oh, its broken all right."

Sure enough.....a broken collar bone on her right side! I felt terrible for letting it go for 5 days!

She HATES doctors and was a typical 2 year old at the hospital but by the end of it was loving all the attention and stickers and juice. She is sporting a little brace and wrap that she will wear for about 2 weeks. Good thing kids are so resilient! A broken clavicle is the most common bone to break and also the fastest to heal. Oh.....the good the bad and the ugly...but mostly the beautiful that comes with being a mom!

Like I said, Paul was only home for a day, actually about 16 hours so we took him back at 5 this morning. It is only 7 am now so I am in for a LONG day. Thank heaven for the disney channel.

I know, it was so wierd cause when she fell, she fell onto blankets. I guess she just landed just right or rather just wrong on it.

I think I've asked you this a thousand times, but when are you going to be in SG again? We're trying to figure out when we can come down.

Crystal, I think I am going to come around the first of August. But it could be sooner. We will see how long I can play super mom after Paul is gone :)

I hope you're not super mom for very long cuz I want to see you!! :)

So I am a few days late reading this, but how sad! How is she doing now? Is the brace and bandage driving her nuts?

Morgan,
Hi. Leah is fine. We stopped wearing the dumb thing like 3 days after. It was useless and the dr. said if she didnt like it then it was fine. She swims and runs after the "music truck" aka ice cream so she must feel fine. :)
thanks for asking
