Nachos

1. Im just a wee but TICKED. The contractor we hired to paint our house just backed out.
Ive been waiting 2 months (or a whole year) for this ugly house to get painted! And now that its the middle of summer, every other contractor is booked till the end of August.
SHEESH.

2. Wanna know how much it would cost to re-place a furnace and air conditioner from 1987? oh just
6000 DOLLARS!
Why did we buy an old house?!!....oh ya- we had know clue what we were doing.

3. Does crappy nacho cheese sound good all day everyday to anyone else or is it just me? I mean
Have you seen this commercial?!
Made especially for pregnant cheese loving women everywhere...come to mama...

4. And we have a pooper. Maya has FINALLY figured it all out.
Maybe Ill save a little money now by not throwing out pooped panties.

5. Every time I come back from visiting family, Im depressed. Over the years it has slowly gotten better but you can count on about a week of me moping around, regretting living so far away, and crying. Paul does not understand this, gets frustrated, and swears he will never let me spend time in Utah again.(ya right ;) I tell him Im a girl and hes a boy and we are different.
Please tell me Im not the only one who does this.

6. Im still just so damn ticked about my house.

7. And I dont want to drop thousands into a new furnace that sits in the creepy smelly basement I never see.

8. Lets move.

9. Lets build.

10. Lets let some other young couple, fall in love with the charm of an old house blindly.

11. I feel like nachos. Like nachos and watermelon.

12. Ashers new favorite phrase is "so and so is freaking fat!" "this is freaking fat!" "that is freakin fat!" "freaking fat!" "freaking fat!" "freaking fat!"
He only says it if he knows Im not around.
But he doesnt know how loud his voice is and I can hear him right this very second.

13. Excuse me while I go spank his bum and eat some nachos.

Oh dear. So sorry it's going to cost an arm & a leg. :(

And nachos and watermelon sounds gross...at least together LOL but I'm not a big nacho cheese kind of person. But I do love me some watermelon. :)

I LOVED basic nachos with all 5 of my pregnancies! I remember hearing years ago-maybe during the first pregnancy, or second, that nachos are the most popular snack for pregnant women...where did I hear it? Hollywood Squares! Still makes me giggle! Sorry about the house painting...I know a guy here, but I don't know about that commute! =)

Sucks about the painter!!! And the $6000. That's freakin nuts. I have been inspired by you to never buy an old house. Hope you can build/move/OR make the best of it. :)

Boo about the house. Yay for Nachos. Good thing you're not "freaking fat" or it might be personal!

sorry about the 6000 grand. i think that there is a tax credit for a/c units/furnaces. at least there is in our state. it's $4000 so that helps! after our first house that was older than both of us combined, we swore we'd never do it again too!!
sweat equity...sucks!

Mmm nachos and watermelon. That commercial made me want some now. Yes, totally hear you on the old house. After living in our 90 year old rental for 8 months, we've decided when we buy, we are going to buy a lot and build a new house. ;) We don't even have to pay for the new things, but what we do have to put up with is enough. You should see our furnace, it looks like something out of a horror movie, and I think it's about 60 years old. I don't even want to think about what's growing in all the ducts... but I already have *gag* Oh, and we have NO a/c. We're "lucky" and have a window unit and Anson's parents let us borrow another portable a/c thing for the summer. With all the leaky windows and doors it makes life great :)

Wow. I thought only I loved fake cheese that much. Costco has a giant can of Nacho Cheese and I am banned from buying it. Apparently the husband is afraid I will eat it all by myself. Sorry about the expense, hopefully there is a tax credit for you. When it is all said and done at least you will have the bragging rights of what you were able to accomplish!

That's going to be me moping around next week...

Sorry about your house. I'd be ticked too. Hope you enjoy your nachos. Too bad I just stuffed myself with chips and salsa and cinnamon rolls, or that commercial would probably appeal to me also.

I hope $6000 was only the first quote you got, and the next will be lots less! We replaced our HVAC last fall, and after pitting a few companies against each other Dan got us a good deal. With the tax credit, I think it was less than 3 grand. I hope the same happens for you!

Nachos... nachos... yum, and I'm not even pregnant!

How does the tax credit work with the new systems? Does it come off next years taxes or a check in the mail?

freaking fat...that is too funny. how far along areyou now??

Annalisa- somewhere around 16 weeks. :)

mmmm.... Nachos. I love having nachos for the kids' birthday parties. I get that big huge can. I'm eating nachos everyday for two weeks! Thanks... Now I want nachos! :)

It's a credit on your taxes, so you'll get it with your return next year.

But seriously, get more quotes!!! $6000 is way too much. I asked Dan and our whole system was $3500 before the tax credit!
